Interacting with the Contract

How to interact with the NGNT contract without writing code (using Etherscan)

To interact with a smart contract such as NGNT, the first requirement is an Ethereum Wallet. The most popular Wallet for this particular use case is Metamask: it is a browser extension that lets you interact with web apps built on Ethereum (known as dApps).

You need to fund your Metamask Wallet with ETH to interact with smart contracts. All smart contract function calls are transactions that require ETH as (gas) fees.

After getting Metamask and setting up your wallet, navigate to NGNT's address Etherscan page to interact with the contract.

Interacting with NGNT Contract on Etherscan

Navigate to Contract > Write as Proxy

Click Connect to Web3 - this will trigger a Metamask pop up, asking you to connect your wallet to Etherscan.

Now you can call all the NGNT contract functions. In the next sections, we shall be showing how to call the functions that are of most concern to a partner: Minting & Burning.

MyEtherWallet is another GUI that can be used to call contract functions.
